I recently acquired a Black Motorola Razr (unlocked) and am using AT&T as my carrier.
I want to install a JAMDAT 2 bowling game on this phone, I downloaded it from the AT&T site, accepted it on the phone then got a message stating that I have a "Authentication Error" (Application not installed) so then I went on EA Games and tried it again, this time I got a message telling me that " Request Denied by Phone, unsupported media type" (a .jar file).
So. I called Motorola and AT&T and came to the conclusion that being I have an unlocked phone that came from somewhere other than AT&T the "JAVA" settings are missing, AT&T tried twice to send me settings but didn't work.
Is there anyway I can remedy this problem.I sure would appreciate it.
THX.Bob

There are no AT&T java settings (no such thing), only websession settings and since you connected to internet ok they seem to be fine
And unlocked makes no difference
Are the games definitely V3 compatible? (most aren't)
Personally I would install using Midway or motomidman program and get them for free on internet.

I have motorola razr V3, black.aren't all .jar files compatable with this phone?
If not, how do I find out what games are?
I'm sorry for being so stupid here but I confused now.
I looked at midway and couldn't find a download also went to motomidman and downloaded a file but can't the .exe file to start it.
Again sorry for being so dumb, you probaly have to talk in 5th grade terms here to get me to install a bowling game on my phone.
Thanks.Bob

No - most games are not compatible
You can get Midway from www.motodev.com (you will need to register)
While you are at that site grab the UID/JAL tool - you will need this to enable the Java app loader on the phone
See this guide: http://www.ic.sunysb.edu/Stu/cdigiamo/tutorial/v220/tut.html
Use the UID tool rather than PST

How are you trying to transfer it?
I saw you post in the tutorial about using memory card - but V3 doesn't have a memory card slot

I don't think that was me about the memory card.maybe it was?
Anyway, I'm using "Motorola phone tools" to try and transfer. (The CD that came with the phone)

Yeah - MPT doesn't do games, certainly not for models without a memory card, and its a bit of trickery for those that do.
