I'm wondering if there is a setting on the phone that I need to change in order for EasyStudio to have complete access to the phone and not hang up. I tried moving the phone further away from the PC's infrared port, but the same thing happened.
Any help with this would be highly appreciated.

Try the PC Studio PIMS from Samsung.com from the following link:

and see if it make any difference.
