I have a Motorola V550. Suddenly I am unable to enter text into the message centre. If attempting to enter individual letters the cursor freezes after 6 key presses. If I try predictive text it freezes straight away. Numbers and symbols can be entered with no problems. Not a lot of good unless I devise a code.

Delete the itap_user_dictionary file using a p2k program and restart the phone

Thanks for the advice but I'm afraid I have no idea how to do that or what a p2k program is or how I access one.

Thanks again. I've read through the tutorial and am still not too sure what I'm looking for; will it be more obvious once I've downloaded something?
I'm assuming I have to connect the phone via a USB lead rather than Bluetooth. I don't recall getting a lead or installation disc with the phone, which was bought brand new.

Yes you need the USB cable for p2k programs - it should be pretty easy to find - its the same as psp and many digi cameras
Once you have connected with a p2k program you will see an a/ folder, inside this is a file itap_user_dictionary
You need to delete this and restart the phone

Many thanks for your help. I need to get a usb cable before I go any further but as you say they seem pretty easy to get hold of.

Got a data cable; took a lot of trial and error before I found what I was looking for but I'm glad to say that all is now up and running correctly.
Thanks for your help.
