I use T-Mobile and I got their customer service to get me an unlock code for the sim card, but apparently it didn't unlock my ability to install games directly to my phone. I copied a .jad and .jar file for a game via my data cable, but only had the choice to save it to Other Files. There's no games directory via data cable, micro sd or bluetooth. Neither the .jad nor the .jar file run from the Other Files folder.

I understand that you can download from a wap site, but I need to know how to simple copy java games onto my samsung sgh-t629 phone and run them from either data cable, bluetooth or micro sd card. I've seen the code #*5737425# for setting up serial, but that doesn't work on this model phone. Please leave detailed instructions.

your code is incorrect. for your phone you have to enable java upload via: #*5369963#

then press C to go back and press: #*5737425#
select PPP UP and mode USB

now go to google and search for "samsung Uploader", download and installl
now google again for SofTick PPP, download and install again

start the softIck PPP program with phone connected, you'll see 1 connection, now start samsung uploader, and upload your JAD/JAR files

when your all done and all is on your phone press #*536961# on phone to revert to normal mode

good luck

Allow me here goes follow to the T.

How to put games on your samsung

1st - Type in the code *#9998*52824678255#
A message will come up saying activated. Now you are ready to install your java games.

2nd - Download a program called jad maker, because in order to install your java games you need the .jar file and the .jad and most torrents only include the .jar

3rd - Find some compatible java games to download.

4th - Send the .jar and .jad file for the game to your phone, whether via bluetooth or usb cable. I prefer bluetooth, then you can also send them to your friends phones and exchange games.

5th - The files will most likely go to your other files folder. Open the .jad and it will install the game for you then ask if you would like to play it.

*Notes*
Each time you turn off your phone you need to re-enter the code.
Some games will simply not work on your phone.
If you would like you can reply with your phone model and list the games that work on that phone

I did everything toolnut43 wrote. I am trying to get the games working on my Samsung t629. The jar and jad files went into the "other files" folder on my 2gb microsd card. I have about 200 mobile games. I browsed to the folder on my phone and tried to open the jad for (doom rpg) and it said "not allowed". I tried a few other games and it said the same thing.

The "jad maker" app I have mentions Nokia phones. Do I need a jad maker specifically for Samsung phones to get this working?

Thanks for your help.

I tried this as you said you did, and i found that you have to copy the .jad and .jar files to your phone's "Other files" folder from the memory card, then install it.

OK, following the instructions as provided I got some games installed, but here's a question does anyone know how to resize the game to have it fit within the set resolution? Like for example I downloaded a game pack off of the 'net and one of 'em is PoP: Two Thrones, but I can't even see half of the game. and it's a tad bit frustrating.

I had the same problem as dzjep so I did what this guy said.

but when its in my phones "other files" and i try to load it it says
"Java error. Illegal argument"

If it makes any difference i downloaded the game to my memory card with a cardreader then put it on my phone from the card

I put more games on my cellphone to see if it was a problem with the one game that I had installed but when trying to open many of the games it gave me this message "Java error. Content size too large" when its size was about 500 bytes, also many other games would go to an install screen with "yes and no" but when you press yes it says "Java error. IO exception"
