Motorola RAZR V3 buttons don't work, firmware or flex cable?

I have a razr v3 and the other day, one minute i was using it and it was working fine, and the next time i picked it up, some of the keys don't work. The bottom row of numbers don't work, and one of the side buttons on the screen half doesn't work, as well as some other buttons, like the down, left and right arrows, and the two top buttons, i think they are called soft keys? I tried to put a new monster pack on it, and the same buttons still don't work. The water damage dot is still white, and I was wondering if it is more of a hardware issue, and if so, if I could fix it myself? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you need a new keypad membrane
You can change it yourself - its a bit fiddly and you need screwdrivers T3, T4, T5 and T6

do you know where I might be able to find a tutorial on changing the keypad membrane? could I just pick up a membrane on ebay? Thanks again for the help.
