I'm looking at buying a used unlocked Motorola v195s or Samsung SGH-T219. A seller of a v195s is stating the phone works with AT&T/Cingular and TMobile (he used it with AT&T/Cingular).
I'm wondering about software differences on the phone between AT&T/Cingular vs. TMobile (especially MyFaves which only TMobile uses)? Would MyFaves really work with an unlocked Motorola v195s?
I'm looking at upgrading my current phone to the v195s but cannot find it anywhere through official TMobile stores(/TMobile's website as an upgrade) so I'm now looking for used. Cannot have a camera phone at work and I know someone I work with who has this phone and likes it (don't like the red T219 and prefer Moto v195s).
Thanks in advance!

The model code you gave matches to a samsung phone. I doubt moto used the same model. Anyway, myfavs will work, but you will just need to manage it through my.t-mobile.com. You will need to activate the myfavs services with a myfavs phone from tmobile first.

I must have been tired last night, I corrected my posting. My concern is if the software loaded on a generic unlocked phone (e.g., Moto v195s/Samsung SGH-T219) would actually include the TMobile software that has MyFaves. I would think only the phones distributed/sold by TMobile where they've loaded their custom software including MyFaves would have this feature. The advertising for MyFaves definitely looks like the software is custom such as the five favorites graphically displaying on the "home screen".
I just don't want to buy this phone then find out I cannot use MyFaves as I would on any other phone.
Someone else in my family is going to get a MyFaves phone so that won't be a problem switching to the MyFaves plan using that phone (luckily they can have a camera on their phone so unlimited options of phone choices for them).
Thanks again.

Unless the phone is from tmobile, and has the tmobile branding it will not have myfavs software in it. Like I said before, you will have to login to my tmobile online to manange your fav 5 list.

The V195s is a T-Mobile-specific model, the "s" meaning it has the MyFaves software. (The unbranded equivalent Moto is the V197.) Sounds like the seller just unlocked it. Unless he removed the MyFaves stuff too--which is possible but unnecessary--you should be good to go.
I see the V195s on T-Mobile's site, in the Phones list--$19.99 after "instant discount," which probably only applies to new accounts or lines.
