Well this isn't very cool at all.

Last night I was charging my phone, took it out, it was just lying around doing nothing then I go to open it and the main screen is just white. The phone is actually on and I can receive texts (but not read them) but nothing comes up on the screen at all.

So I got RSD Lite and flashed the Firmware with a Monsterpack I found on this forum for the Krzr, the Mike10's UK monsterpack (maxedmobiles . com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_details&gid=128&Itemid=31).

I got all that flashed and the phone boots up with the new Firmware but the white screen is still there and hasn't changed at all.

Any ideas people? Help is much appreciated.

Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

First check is the flex cable.

Is the round dot under the battery white or red?

Not quite sure where I'm supposed to be looking, there's nothing on the Battery and I can't see any dots under the Battery on the phone itself, certainly nothing red.

There is small round dot - remove battery cover and its at the bottom below battery. If its red or dark it indicates water damage. If its white there is no water damage.

If its white then flex cable and flip sensor would be my next checks

Ahh yeah, the dots white.

Could you give me some advice on how to check the flex cable and sensor? Thanks for the help.

Well this is REALLY annoying. Two of the screws on the flip part of the phone are worn down now and I'm finding it next to impossible to get them out.

Guess I'll just have to keep trying.

Well I managed to get it open and I've checked/re-seated the sockets at both ends, all looks fine. The outside display works alright, it's just the large one inside.

Could be a software issue but maybe a chip hardware issue? Any ideas?

Right well it's just the inside main screen which is just a blank white, the small outer screen works as normal and displays alerts for new texts, the time, signal etc.

I've opened the phone up and checked the Flex cable and it's all seated properly so I definitely think it's some kind of software problem. I've also tried flashing the phone with various other monsterpacks but nothing works.

Heres some specs I have:

Technology: Quad-Band GSM
Software Version: R4527_G_08.42.0BR_A
Flex Version: GSTCNRYATT02NA104 - 1.0.1.2.3.2.1.4M.0.0.3.0.3.0.0.1.5.3.2.1.0.5.01.0
Bootloader Version: 020a
DRM Version: 0101
Bound Signature: Allowed

Any ideas people? Help is much appreciated.

If you flashed a monsterpack and still have a problem its not software.

I'm thinking the magnet / sensor that detects flip is open.

Does the outer screen change when flip is opened or closed?
