Hey guys, my sister has a Sony Ericsson K800i that she started using about half a year ago. It was working well until recently, about 2 weeks ago that it started to have problems with charging.
After the charging problems ended, the phone wouldn't start up. And now, the start up problems have ended but the phone is unable to detect a network.
We've tried 3 other sim cards, all with the same result. And we've put my sister's sim card into 3 other phones and all the phones were able to detect a network.
I don't want my parents to have to spend money on a new phone again (the k800i was her 3rd phone in less than a year) because her plan is ending soon. Unfortunately, we did not have insurance so I'm trying to find a way to somehow fix this.
I am not too sure but I do believe this is a problem with a firmware. can anyone confirm and give suggestions on how I can fix this? I've had problems with my old phones and the community here has always been able to help me out, so I'm confident in the chances of fixing the k800i. Thanks in advance.

If you think it's the firmware, try a master reset first. If nothing happens, flash the firmware. Still nothing.honestly, use the 1-yr manufacturer's warranty through SE to save you the hassle.

How would I do the master reset? And I dont think my sister kept the warranty information from her Sony Ericsson box. Is it still possible without it?

Master reset - look through settings
Warranty - you need proof of purchase.if not, try to talk your way with the CSR when contacting SE.

Is the original box required if I try to get it fixed through the warranty? Also, The phone is working better now, it doesn't freeze as much but it detects network and then loses signal almost instantly. Any help?
