Hello!
I have a MOTO V551 that was locked to ATT but when ATT moved to Cingular a few years ago I stopped using the V551 and started using a Cingular phone that I had to purchase in order to use Cingular. Anyhow, I really liked the V551 and decided to switch back so I got a program and unlocked the phone, put my sim card in. and everything was fine for about a day or two then the phone began to die in the middle of phone calls. about a min into the conversation the phone screen will go white and shut off then it seems like it tries to turn itself back on but just stays white or if it does manage to get back to the main screen it does it again.I am also unable to receive text messages that contain pictures, which is very frustrating. when a picture is sent from one phone my phone shows "GPRS ACTIVE" on the main screen and after a very long time, the message will arrive but will not show the image. it says download so i hit download and nothing except an experation date appears. I have never seen GPRS before and would like to get it removed from the phone so that I may receive pictures normally. I am curious that the problems may be caused by an old battery. the battery has never been changed in the phone.
Please post any ideas. thank you so much!

The first problem could be hardware or software - flashing a monsterpack would eliminate software
For the messaging you need the correct websession and mms settings for your provider

Thank you! I got the text messages to work properly but the phone is still having the problem with shutting off out of no where.
