I have read that others have transfered their ringtones to S/D card then sent them in a message. Is there a way to do ringtones with the S/D card without messaging? I have text pix & vid blocking on my phone & can't send myself a message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW: its a VX8350

how long does it typically take for the message from the email to be received by the phone? ive tried to email it and it hasn't come in for over 10 minutes? should I be worried it didn't work or just keep on wiating? also, do I need to sign up for anything before being able to receive these messages?

how do you make a 23 second mp3 file small enough to be able to send in a message?

i don't know of a way to do it without messaging because verizon doesn't want you to be able to make ringtones that easy, they want you to pay so they don't make it a norm option

You probably figured it out by now, but for anyone else viewing this thread, you usually need to re-encode the mp3 to a smaller bitrate, like 64kbps. I did this with Audacity and the Lame Encoder, which you can search for on the net. The file came out as 193kb. (I first tried a file over 300kb, but that didn't go through on the email method.)
Then I followed the method earlier in this thread: I renamed the mp3 with a .mid extension and emailed it as an attachment to [MyPhone#] AT vzwpix DOT com
Got it within 10 seconds and had my new clip! Very happy because I'm a classical music guy, and the Verizon ringtone selection sucks. Now I can set a clip from John Adams' "Nixon in China" as my ringtone.

Go to the Kim Komando website and click downloads and click audio and the tool is in there.
