Ok. Here's the situation. My son just destroyed his second phone within a year, no insurance.
I've had the same phone for about 2 years, and am thinking of moving to a Blackberry device of some kind. This is our plan: 900 anytime, unlimited texting on both phones. my total is about 100.00 per month. I'm not really concerned with cost, and neither one of us access the internet, but do send alot of text's.
Questions:
1. Can I use a sim card on a Blackberry 7280 (unlocked) or something similar, and just text and use the basic phone features without signing up for internet e-mail, etc etc? I could use the calendar and other features of this phone.
2. I'm thinking of getting the cell phone destroyer a motorola v365. Motorola's seems to be very "meaty" and tough. anyone have any experience with this phone, and any other that might last a year with this kid? lol

you should be able to send text fine. i am not sure about pictures/video though, as i'm not sure if media net data push works on blackberrys. what i mean by that is, in order to send a pic or vid up to a certain size, you need some sort of data push. usually on standard phones, a pay per use media net is required, which is free of charge for texting. on a blackberry i can't garantee that the media net push will work, as its designed for its own blackberry data usage. try it out and see. if nothing else you'll be able to text i'm sure.
second opinions are welcome, thats just from my knowledge.
