so im using the Samsung SCH-U340 and i want the SCH-U740 and i dont want to pay retail and im adding a person anyway and they are going to use the SCH-U340 that im using now and I want to know if i can use the rebate they get for the 2 year agreement and buy the SCH-U740 and use it with my current number

The answer to your question is yes. You can activate the line on the SCH-u740 and still get your rebate white it is on your other line. The only thing that you have to do is let the SCH-u740 remain on the new line of service for 3 days (72 hrs). If you do not wait 3 days you will mess up the upgrade date on your current line.

Enjoy the SCH-u740, it is an excellent choice.

so the SCH-U740 is going to be on the newline for 3 days and then i can take the phones up to verizon and switch the phones and ill have the SCH-U740 and the new line will have the SCH-U340?

It really all depends on which store and who you go to. My store requires you have the phone for 72 hrs on the new line before you can switch it to your current line. Mainly due to the fact, if you switch it before 72 hrs, Verizon will back charge the store, meaning we lose anywhere from $150 to $275 in commissions. But depending on what store you go to they might just do it for you that day.
