Hello,
My husband and I have a plan with 550 anytime minutes and unlimited nights and weekends and mobile to mobile. We got our first bill yesterday and it shows we used 400 minutes (including N&W and M2M), yet it says we only have 54 rollover minutes. Am I missing how rollover minutes work? We switched from verizon so rollover minutes are a new thing. Thanks for any help.

The minutes you do not use go to the next month. Since your plan is 550 minutes you will have 604 minutes. The minutes you do not use will "rollover" to the next month and you just add 550 to the minutes you don't use.

On your first bill your rollover will be a little differnt because most of that bill is prorated because chances are you didn't sign up for new service on your exact bill cut date. Your next bill is when you'll start getting full rollover minutes.

Kvalich had it right. Because your first bill is likely prorated, you didn't get your full 550 minutes for the cycle. Usually, you don't actually accumulate any rollover minutes until your first full billing cycle however if you got some, consider it a bonus. From your second cycle onward, they will work as described where if you only use 400 minutes, you'll rollover 150 to the next month.
Also, one more thing since this is rarely explained to new customers and you'll be wondering about it in a year: rollover minutes work on a rolling 12-month cycle. Basically, you only get 12 months worth of rollover minute at any point in time. By October next year, if you haven't used those 54 rollover minutes you've accumulated, they will expire. Then they ones you accumulate next month (November) will expire at the end of November 2008, if not used, etc. Just to let you know. Your bill will show this when it comes time, and if you check on your minutes (online, or *MIN#) it will show whether or not you have rollover minutes set to expire that cycle as well.

So if she uses 400 minutes and has 150 left over for the next two months, can she use 700 minutes in Feb? It seems to be like a rolling bank, if you use 149 minutes, and then 2 minutes, you will have used up all of the December minutes correct?
