I have looked through the sticky and also searched. My friend is a Cingular AT&T Sales Rep and I asked her to block my son's phone so he could not surf the net. He has been very responsible and I want to give him a little more access. so now I am trying to dowload a ringtone and can't. She can't remember what the settings should all be and I called 611 and the csr said that internet access can only be blocked from their end and not from the phone itself. Well, I got news for her. it is blocked from the phone because no matter what sim we put in - it still wouldn't work (including my friend's sim and it was her Official Use Line and still no go).

From all of the searching I have done, here is what I have for settings (ignore the spaces in the u r l lines - I had to do that so they wouldn't think I was posting a website or SPAM):
Menu
Settings
Connection Settings
Media Net

Profile Name :

APN:

Proxy Status:

I have also tried:

Proxy Settings:
w i r e l e s s .
c i n g u l a r . c o m
Port: 80

Still when I try to launch the browser it says service not available. This phone has always been a Cingular phone - now AT&T. I used it for a while and had downloaded to it before my friend 'blocked' the internet for my son - so I know it is POSSIBLE.

Sorry for posting what seems to have already been answered - but I have tried what I have found on here and nothing is working. I am hoping there is an expert CSR here who can help. icon_confused.gif

Thank you so much!

Again, please let me be clear that I know there are FAR too many spaces in the above post. I kept getting an error message saying that I couldn't post any URL so soon. I just wanted to try and give as much info as possible so as not to waste anyone's time (any more so than necessary)! Thanks for your help!

OK NEVER MIND! I was updating the Media Net Settings which was the first thing on the list. What I should have been updating was the HOME settings. I guess anyway - because I finally went in and changed those and now it works. Thank goodness for thie forum! It took me a while but I finally figured it out.
