Pretty much the way the alpha tags are getting switched over is whenever the network has to update something on your service, it'll update that at the same time. So if you suspend/restore, that's an update. If you add or remove a service-affecting feature (like going from blocked SMS to a messaging plan, or vice-versa), that's an update.

Almost any update to the account will update the alpha tag, suspend/restore is generally the easiest one to do.

They're also manually pushing the alpha tag switch though for a set number of customers every night, and I'd heard the December due-date as well for having all of them done.

I logged into OLAM, reported my phone stolen, and 5 mintues later re-activated it again. I turned off my phone for 5 minutes, and when I turned it on, it said AT&T.

As far as getting another sim from AT&T all I ever do is go to my local store and tell the sales rep that "I've troubleshooted problems with my phone and had no luck. Customer service told me to come here and get another sim card." And like clock work, they give me a new card with no problem. The 3G card is much better than the old ones from before. icon_devil.gif

Yeah I was shopping and it said Cingular last I knew and then I went to make a call and it said the "AT&T" alpha tag! Personally I would rather have the "Cingular" tag than the AT&T tag just cuz Cingular is a better name. And I did have a Cingular SIM card at the time.but I recently got the TRAX and i now have an AT&T SIM card so there's NOTHING I can do about it.I've gotten used to it yay.
