Hello guys, first time poster, long time reader icon_wink.gif

Anyway, I got a bit of a problem with my RAZR V3xx (Cingular/ATT). My friend gave it to me after it died on her, and I've been trying many things to try and get it to turn on.

The phone's totally dead; it has no signs of life when plugged in, doesn't make any noise or anything. The only hint of life I get out of the phone is a red circle in the upper left corner of the front screen when I have the phone plugged in to a computer. Otherwise, nothing.

I've tried different batteries (Even a known good from another RAZR, which was fully charged) and it didn't work at all. I've tried connecting it to the computer a couple times, and still, I get a red circle. I noted that the red circle only comes on when the battery is in the phone and there is no SIM in the phone. I used a SIM in the phone and it would fail to come on at all.

I tried some other steps outlined on this forum.flash mode, and holding the power button for 30 secs. Nothing at all. The computer doesn't even see the phone.

My friend says that before the phone died, she put it on vibrate (and at this time, the phone had a low battery), put it in her purse, and pulled it out later to find it dead, and it wouldn't come on. Her purse was taken care of and never was handled roughly, so death by impact seems unlikely.

And lastly, the phone's little dots are white, so this phone's been kept pretty dry.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I have it plugged in now, and it's been like that for about 7 hours. Still no life from it, unfortunately icon_sad.gif

I found a bit more of info.

The red light, some are reporting, stays on when the battery is low. My friend had put it into vibrate on low battery, and this light was on.

And to repeat myself, the red light comes on whenever I plug the phone into a computer. And it will NOT come on at all if I have a SIM card in the slot.

And lastly, this red light is the one nearest the front display. This is not the one right next to the camera lens.

I have had the same problem and am on phone number 3. Only had one for two months. Motorola support don't help. Motorola has replaced it both times and warrrenty goes to 8/08. They say they have to brake it down and reprogram. I received a total replacement both times with new IMEIs.
