About 4 months ago I lost my motorola v3xx. So I filed a claim with asurion through att and they replaced it. Just the other day I found my lost phone in the garage.
Can I keep it as a back up or can my wife us it with her simcard, we share a family plan. I have yet to power it on with any of our sim cards, for fear of the iemi number being traced. I know att locks phones by way of iemi when reported stolen but what about when their reported lost. If it is locked can I get it unlocked with att I have all purchase receipts for the phone. Or will they rat on me to assurion.

But can I still use it? I think I remember something in the contract stating that the lost phone now becomes property of assurion. I would like to let my wife use it with her simcard, as she has a much older razr model.

You'll be fine. Go ahead and let your wife use it, there's nothing wrong with that.

yes you can use att does not ban imei everything it done from the sim card the the lock you are speaking of prevents the phone it's self from using someone elses sim card in it unless you get it unlocked
