Hi, I'm going to be buying a sidekick but am not sure which one I should get. I like the screen size on the lx but am not sure if the swivel screen is reliable. I had heard that they sometimes go out. I like the slide but the screen is smaller. Does anybody have any suggestions about which one would be better?

thanks

I decided on the slide, its awesome! The best thing for you to do, goto a tmobile store and play with both phones. Personally, the lx seems cheaper to me build wise, plastic like. But it has the bigger key board out of the two. The gui is pretty much the same on both phones. According to this site and cnet.com, the lx has the better screen resolution but judge for yourself. To me the slide has the better screen. The swivel screen did feel alittle delicate but its up to personal taste. Do your research first, check reviews and watch videos. This will make the desicion easier for you. FYI, I`m typing from my slide now and its awesome! Best of luck to you! Hope this helps.

Don't let the screen motion be your deciding factor. I have had a sidekick 2 and currently have a sk3, and never ran into a problem yet with the swivel screen.

I was trying to make a point that it is very hard to break so that you breaking the phone shouldn't be your deciding factor.

Yes I get that but I was speaking about myself (and others like moi). I can break things easily don't know how I do. It feels fragile to me so I made a choice. Excuse me, could have worded that better. The swivel could be a deciding factor depends on the person. Again it comes down to testing the phone before you buy it.

Let me start by saying "I HATE T-MOBILE/SIDEKICKS". When I first got a sidekick I very stoked about having the "cool" phone. One morning I was trying to make a call out when I noticed my entire phone book was deleted, everything on the phone reset to nothing, all my txts, numbers, you name it, it was gone. In about 15-20 min my numbers came back(make sure they are saved to your sim card before this decides to happn or theres no back up). Yea, this happns are a regular. Then, lets talk about TEXTING, one day I stopped getting messages, none going out nor in. So I have a friend sending me messages to see if they would yet come through, this started at 9am, then at about 7pm I seem to get all the messages at once, about 50 came through. The latest thing that happng on a REGULAR basis, I send txts at about 2pm-ish, and my friends wont get them till 2AM ! not even lying. on mulitple occasions has this happnd. And apparently its not just me, my other friends who have tmobile have that same problem, except that its around the same time. I understand things update that may delay service, ONCE in a while but I'm talking about 4-5 days a week does this happn. Imagine your phone blowing up at midnite when you sleeping and its asking you about lunch. Wish i was lying bc then I wouldnt be on here waisting my time. So, yes txtng messaging are delayed, not 5 min delayed but hours delayed. So now lets go to INTERNET, never works. all was searching.OMG, so here we have the sidekick thats GREAT for internet, txtng and instant chat. but it never works. pay $20 a mon for the damn sidekick package and it will work when it wants. Wish it was just the area but I live in the city, not talking hills and mountains, the CITY. I do not recommend TMOBILE under any circumstances. Cool phones. that dont work !

1) the sidekick automatically backs all data up (except text messages) so that in the event everything is lost, it can be restored. You MUST all 48hrs for a restore to take place, especially if its because of a network glitch.

2) it sounds as if your account was not provisioned properly. A simple call to CS sounds like it would have fixed all your problems.

Yes it does have back-up.that’s great for once in a while thing, but when it happens allot, this up to 48hr thing is a big in convince, so as often as this happens its pain to have to wait 2-3 days before all your numbers are back and working. I've never been with w/cell phone company that so many "glitches".

And yes a simple call might work, but when you have other friends who also have tmobile are having the same problems, saying it’s just a coincidence that we all have the same problem. We should all call the CS because all of our phones were not provisioned properly. Hmmm for some odd reason that don’t sound right. I've had sprint and verizon and have never had problems such as that.
