Hey,
I just got a new Lg vx9900 (orange one looks sweet) and i'm trying to make my own ringtones for it. It seems to keep the mp3's separate from the ringtones which seem to be qcp files. Is there a way to make the mp3's work as ringtones?
I tried cutting up an mp3 with audacity (to less than 30 seconds) and converting it to a qcp (prog called qcp converter) and somewhere in there the sound quality turned to crap when i finally got it to the phone.
Any hints or suggestions or am i missing something with being able to just use an mp3 as a ring tone? The book for the phone doesn't seem very helpful in this arena (I assume this is because they want me to pay for ringtones from them)
I appreciate any help,
mike

makeownringtone . com is able to produce QCP files. Just change the "file format" field there.

Mike,
I have the same phone and I make my own ringtones. The only way I have found so far is to create my sound file (.wav or .mp3) and keep it under 150Kb or so.I save the sound to my memory card in the "My Sounds" folder. Put the card back in your phone and pull up the sound in the "Get It Now" section of your phone. Find the sound you want and SEND it to yourself in a message. When you get it back, the phone gives you the option to "Save as Ringtone".There ya go!
