I lost my phone (I did not have the insurance) and need to get a new one. Because we are in the middle of our plan, Verizon won't give any discounts. Does anyone have any suggestions of a website or store I could find a Verizon-compatible cell phone at a decent price? I'm an "emergency" user and do not need an bells and whistles.

The least expensive one at the Verizon store was $175 and felt completely undurable and excessively cheap.

Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

you can try places like eBay if you like shopping online. you can find some very good deals on peoples' old equipment there. 2 words of advice if you go that route: 1- make sure it's a verizon wireless phone, only vzw phone work on your network. 2- get the esn from the seller and call customer service to verify it's not a lost/stolen phone.

a second options is to call customer service and ask about the 'national lost/stolen replacement policy" this will get you a new phone at 1y discount price. most people are eligable for it but it does require a new service agreement. if the rep doesn't know what you're talking about, talk to a supervisor, it's kind of a new policy

Another number to call to verify the device (if purchased from e-bay or another personal seller) would be Asurion. The insurance company also will lock a device and sometimes when you verify through the customer service they won't see the Asurion lock table.
