Yeah, i know that there has been alot of topics talking about how you cannot unlock any of the sidekick phones and i understand but my friend is selling me an sidekick i.d for 30$ and yes i want it. But, the thing is that i have a cingular phone and my dad has been unlocking alot of phones lately and he said he'll see if he can unlock it for me because recently he has just unlocked his friends iphone and it took him like 2 days to do that but on the sidekick i.d all i want to be able to do is use the texting part and the phone. is that possible?

As many times as I say nothing is impossible, this nearly is. The iphone is unlockable. The sidekick.not so much. And you need to remember, even if you do manange to get it unlocked, only voice and txt messaging will work.

so i would be able to recieve and make calls? and also write text massages? thats all i need. as soon as i get it ill be up all night trying to unlock that thing.

You could make phone calls with no problem, but you may have issues with texting. You are going to need to modify service center numbers. And don't let the phone turn off because it will clear all your data out of it (like your address book).
