Started a new contract. Got the Treo 750. Worked for about a week. Keys froze. Was told that the 750 has a tendency to do that! Returned phone. Purchased i-phone. Spent over $450! Was told that I would get coporate discount on the Treo. And that bill would not be pro-rated! Got the bill. Freaked out! Bill was $417! Called to verify charges as I did not go over mins. Spoke to EMILY SEARS! Who I personally think has a claw and hooves as part of her physical attire. Rude and nasty would not even begin to describe. The Dude in the store who sold me the phone somehow neglected to mention that I was going to be billed for 2 mths! Guess he was too busy looking at his commission check to think that was relevant to me! Anyhoo, she was getting a bit frisky! I wasn't rude after all I am an Quality Assurance Manager and I know how these calls can go but man. If I didn't live on the East Coast she might have caught the ugly side of a brick to her face! I am not asking for a free ride. I expected the first bill to be high. Hell I expected to pay about $250 for the most! But wtf! The worst customer service ever! She is telling me to go back to the store and take it up with them! I mean that is one thing but in the meantime the bill is ridiculous. I am not asking for a free ride. I can pay the bill but damnit! It is about principle! Bottom line she messed with the right one because when I am done with her she is going to match up with the rest of her. Along with her claw and hooves she is going to have donkey hair on her face and back. Hopefully a vet can piece back what she should look like! Nasty heifer!

I know this may be a retarded question , but ignorance is not a justifiable answer. Did you actually i dunno ASK the person who sold you the phone what you might expect on your fist bill?

Yes I did. .He told me that I wouldn't be prorated. After being a Sprint customer and a Nextel customer I would think that I was fairly savvy. He told me all I would have to pay is my bill of 59.99, 40 for the data package and a 36 activation fee along with the 8.99 for early nights and 99 cents for answer tones! I expected my bill to be about 200 maybe 250 but 417? C'mon now! How do you justify that?

i cant then again i cant see your bill either, i would recomend reading your bill COMLEATLY line for line word for word, becasue even if its a double bill your pretax would only be 239.94,
how many lines do you have?
did you retain your # when you got the IPHONE?
did you dill any equipment to your account?
did you have a deposit?

I just have 1 line! This is a brand new account! I had no prev bill. I was a former Nextel customer and there is no balance there or anthing and I have never, ever had an acct with Cingular before. I have gone over my acct with a fine tooth comb. I was supposed to get a corporate discount since I had the Treo and I was told that the activation fee was supposed to be waived but that did not happen!I paid for the Iphone as well as the Treo cash! I didn't have a deposit! I appreciate your ?'s though. And what you quoted the bill to be was what I expected not this $417 mess they are trying to pass off as valid!

Another thing to mention: You're not going to be getting that corporate discount with your iPhone, either. Apple doesn't allow it. Just so you know.

Nae. I know the Ipod doesn't qualify for the corporate discount. I had the Treo for 20 days and that qualified for the discount and the discount would also be reflected on the total bill. I am happy to report though that after reading this website and someone else's issue with Cingular I was contacted today by e-care and they credited my account! I just hope that Emily Sears gets a rash on her &@$ and some weird coarse hair that can only be removed by a vet! heh heh. Thanks for the help guys you guys on here were awesome with the advice and so forth!

What probably happened is when you signed up the system automatilcally sets a bill date lets say the 15th and you got your plan on the 16th since att bills in advance you are going to get billed from the 16th to the 14th of the next month then from the 15th to the 14th of the following month they cannot see this in the store till after 24 hours but since you bitched so much they gave you what you and every other cell customer wants something for free.

as stated above, at&t bills in advance. but cant bill in advance for the first bill.so first bill is first month's service + second month's service. second bill will be for third month's service (won't be a double bill).it is always a shocker.and this is one of the many reasons i'm glad i'm a prepaid csr now.
cheers.

well i work for at&t and when something like that happens you might want to go back to the store, and talk to the associate. I have personally fixed customers bills whenever i messed them up. Just a little fyi, we are never to busy looking at our comission checks due to the fact that their hardly ever posted or updated.
