The cell phone always changes, and cell phones constantly evolve. I was wondering whether purchasing the V200 is wise. Newer phones do exist, is it in a sense 'outdated'? Any suggestions while were on the matter of what phone to get?

the v200 in my opinion is pretty limited, no bluetooth, and no java capability, if i was u i would opt for the sony ericsson t610, or if you like your samsungs, try the e700, however the e700 has no bluetooth, and it is only dualband

Sorry for the following "noob" question, but what is bluetooth
here are some questions:
1) Can I take any pic on my pc resize it, and place it as my wallpaper on the V200
2) How much memory does the phone have?
3) Can I use any polyphonic tone?
4) How are the games on the phone?
5) Is it easy to use?
6) How is the photo quality? Can I transfer photos from my phone to my pc?
7) Could sommeone plz post a photo which they took using the V200?
sorry about all the questions

first, consider Bluetooth to be an alternative to infra-red. To keep it simple, Bluetooth is simply another form of wireless solution.
Use the google search engine if you want to go into details.
1) Can I take any pic on my pc resize it, and place it as my wallpaper on the V200
Ans: the v200 uses 128x128 pixels JPEG or GIF files as wallpapers.. so the answer should be Yes.
2) How much memory does the phone have?
Ans: dunno. i can squeeze in only a maximum of 15 static .GIF files, or around 6 animated .GIF files, or 10 JPEG files as wallpapers. I think v200 can only store up to 8 downloaded ringtones? (haven't tried.. before giving the v200 to my dad, i stored only 3 downloaded tones).
one key thing to remember is that v200 has fixed memory for each segment.. i.e. it does not matter how many ringtones you store in the phone - it will NOT affect the number of wallpapers v200 can store.
And nope, you cannot see the memory remaining on v200. Its guesswork.
3) Can I use any polyphonic tone?
Ans: Yes.
4) How are the games on the phone?
Ans: They lag badly, and since v200 doesn't have java, you can't download new games.
5) Is it easy to use?
Ans: Takes getting used to, but overall its ok. Better phones out there though.
6) How is the photo quality? Can I transfer photos from my phone to my pc?
7) Could sommeone plz post a photo which they took using the V200?
Ans: sorry, my dad's out with the phone now. What i can say is that, the camera sucks. Only the fact that v200 has a decent screen saves it.
P.S. if you are serious about a digital camera, do yourself a favor - BUY one REAL digital camera instead. Camera-phones can only do so much.

What dust didnt really answer was #6.
Yes, you can transfer pictures from your phone to your PC. You can either e-mail them or use a data cable with software, i'm not sure if IRDA works. If you have a v205, you'll need to flash to v200 before you can transfer w/a cable.

Thanks for replying, btw Im not very serious about taking photos I have a digital camera, and a digital video camera so Im fine. The phone is great in my opinion does anyone disagree, I was considering the t610 BUT I THINK ITS UGLY . Besides Im not looking for that many features, a good phone with good color quality is all I really need. I love the V200s look, Im looking for a phone with following;
-16,000 colors
-polyphonce ringtones
-capability to download, and use different wallpapers as well as ringtones
perhaps also with:
-camera
-clamshell design

LOL i missed out on question #6! Thanks azndude51
Yes, IRDA (infra-red) does work for v200 - however not on all firmwares, such as the G3 beta version (which is buggy).

Locke, you should also think about price because the e700 is considerably more expensive, at least where I live in the states. I bought my v205 for only $50 w/rebates, but the e700 costs around $250 w/rebates here. But if cost isnt a problem, the e700 is definitely the best choice
