hello i have a sony erricson w800i, unfortunatly the joystick is playing up on me for example whne i navigate up it'll navigate to 'select', help needed urgent!

you need to either clean that area btwn the joystick and the housing or you need to check the connections.
cleaning would be eaiser - just get that can of compressed air and spray.

This is what I did to rectify the problem. I got hold of a can of contact cleaner that comes with a thin nozzle. Next I pushed the joystick to one side so that there is a small gap appearing on the opposite side and sprayed the contact cleaner into the small gap. Then I moved the joystick numerous times in all directions. Repeat if necessary until the problem is resolved. Worked for me.

if you have warranty you can get it fixed for free.
but still clean the inner areas regularly.
