got a new phone that was accessing data without my knowledge and I got this huge bill. i had no way of knowing untill i got the bill. didn't even know that was possible with my coverage. i had asked for unlimited minutes a few years ago after i once got a big bill to avoid this type of thing. at the time i was very specific that i did not want any surprizes on my bill and i needed to know that it would be the 70 per month charge. when i called on this item the customer care people told me that my phone used the time, its in the contract, and i have to pay the 1,479. do i have any hope?

you could try escalating to a supervisor.

To be honest you're stuck in sort of a he said, she said situation. You can say you didn't know the phone used it, and they can say you're dodging the charges.
