I've read that the Tilt is not bound (locked) to using Telenav as the GPS mapper. I see that GARMIN is offering two alternatives - one is a software CD only and the other is a CD, GPS receiver and a Bluetooth interface. I'm a tad confused, if the Tilt has a built in GPS receiver chipset, then go through the trouble of having an external receiver and Bluetooth link?
a) Does the Tilt have built-in (true) GPS (eg a 12 channel receiver)
b) Is one required to use Telenav?
c) Why use an external receiver -- unless the one inside the Tilt is a poor performer.
Thanks!

the tilt does have GPS. i'm assuming garmin offers the gps reciever for non-gps enabled devices. just like telenav offers an external bluetooth gps reciever. if using telenav, you don't need a gps reciever. google maps can also use the internal GPS if you want to give that a try for free. definitely not as nice as telenav though.

yeah It does have a pretty good GPS. I took out all the AT&T Bloatware, i am using on Tmobile! I am using TrackME and Google Maps. It works great, i at least pick up 3 Sats Minimal. Good luck. I have heard it uses a Sirf III but dont hold me to that.
