to do ring tone on each contact. click contacts on touch screen. then click the contact you want. then click edit. then towards the bottom, it says ringtone, and under it, default. click where it says default, and your available ringtones popup. select the one you want, and click set. then click save. and you are done.
Thanks for all the tips on getting mp3's as ringtones, very helpful!

OK guysi found a way to put ringtones on you phone
the voyager as you all know come with the USB cable to your phone.
DOwnload BITPIM and AUDICITY as well. know pic any MP3 you want open with audicity shorten whatever part you want to 30 seconds. save it. open BITPIM load it to your phones ringtone folder
and also BITPIM can back up your whole phone manage it and whatever FREE so coo coo catchoo and get working

Hey, worked like a charm, but you can do this in a more efficient way with not having to download such a large program just download audacity (google it since this board wont let me post links yet.) and the lame mp3 encoder plugin, then for those of you still on xp (sorry cant do this in vista you have to use the crappy vcast software.)
just go to settings on your phone and change usb auto detection to ask on plug or music then when you plug in the phone select music on the phone, open up my computer and it should show internal (and if you have it) external lg vx10000 under audio devices.
go to mycomputer\V CAST Mobile Phone - VX10000 - Phone Internal Memory\Media\Music
and add your ringtones with the ringtone tag beforehand then if you want edit the name on the phone.
(btw, these ring tones sound way better then the crappy ones you can buy on vcast.)
also using audicity you can have it fade in and out so it sounds much better along with several other effects
(when you go to save you will need to export as mp3 then select the dll that comes with the lame mp3 encoder.)
also using this file tree makes me think this may lead to a great way to hack and alter many things on the phone.

Thanks for all the tips. I'm able to get the ringtone created through audacity on the phone. However, if I attempt to use it for a contact, the small bell icon to the left of the name is yellow and it returns to DEFAULT. Also, when I select it the bottom menu has the Options button appear between the SET & CLR buttons. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? I'm saving the 15 sec ringtone as .mp3.

I have figured out a way to create your own ringtones and use them on the voyager as well as the envy.I use Kylix Ringtone Maker to create my ringtones.(program wont work for Vista).Once you have created the ringtone.save it under the sounds folder on you external mini card for the phone.open the sound up in the phone and simply text it to your own phone number.download the sound as a ringtone to the phone. This is free if you have unlimited text.for the other u spend $.10 instead of the $1.99 the VZW charges for a little bit of your own time.Hasn't failed me yet.

Got my wife a Voyager. Love the phone but this will be the last VZW anything we buy.
I spent $300 on a phone. $20 for a 2 GIG memory card. My wife loaded it with 400 of her favorite songs. And she can't use them as ringtones?!? So she has to buy, at $1.99 a pop, ringtones of songs she already owns?
So VZW cripple the phone to get you to spend more money? Ridiculous. Has to be one of the shadiest things I've ever heard a company do.
My wife LOVES the phone so she will deal with the lame standard tones, but we are done with VZW after this contract is up.
