For the record BITPIM does work. They don't disappear when you shut the phone off.
Still ticked off at VZW though. Shady ass company.
Google BITPIM to find the site.
That's all you need. Includes help files to walk you through it.

google mobile seventeen (type the number, I had to spell it out) and set up an account (free). They do not list the Voyager as one of the LG cell phones, so choose the VX9900 instead (this works fine). Then you can upload any mp3 file from your computer (up to 40 seconds worth) and send it to your cell phone. Send it as a picture message. When you receive it, you'll have the option to "Save as Ringtone." This is a free service if you're willing to wait a few hours for the message to reach your phone.

Do not follow the instructions in the message above - if you do you'll be subscribed to a service that charges $9.99 a month, with nearly no warning (only following a link to the "terms and conditions" when creating an account there revealed this to be true). If imab5fan wants to provide a direct link that avoids getting subscribed to that site where one can send a free SMS with a ringtone to their phone, that would be cool. Otherwise, be wary.

When you search, don't spell out the number, instead use 17. I have used mobile 17 for years and have never had an issue. It is absolutely free and absolutely safe. I will post the exact address once I have received permission from the moderator to do so. In the mean time, please feel free to try this site for yourself.

first of all to the user above the reason bitpim did not detect your phone is because bitpim requires your phones drivers to be installed. Remember that neat little cd they included in the box with ur voyager ^.^ well that is the key pop that into your cd drive and install the music manager weather u decide to use it or not is up 2 you whats important is that after it is installed that program will automatically install your LG VX10000 DRIVERS aka your voyager is recognizable by your computer afterwords go into bitpim and have it detect your phone it will work now and u can have all the fun u want sending and recieving data from your phone. ""NOTE"": IF U WANT TO VIEW VIDEOS YOU HAVE RECORDED OFF OF YOUR VOYAGER YOU WILL NEED TO USE QUICKTIME PLAYER and the voyager also works as a usb storage device for files up to the limit of the memory of if you choose to add a micro sd card u can increase that as well ""NOTE2"" WRITING RINGTONES WILL REQUIRE YOUR VOYAGERS MEMORY IF U DO IT HIGH QUALITY MAYBE ABOUT 1 MEGABYTE PER 30 SECOND TONE I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU PPL OUT
