My contract with AT&T is up on 12/05/07, and I want to stay with AT&T I have been them since 2004 .(the old AT&T Wireless "blue"), I never have any "major" with their services or customer service.

My son want a QWERTY keyboard phone since AT&T doesn't really have text messaging phone, so that mean I have to get him a PDA or Blackberry on top of that I have to pay $39.99 for unlimited data since he use WAY TOO MANY DATA!(He already use 188.8Mbs already this month.) plus $19.99 for unlimited text messaging! =

$69.99 - Family Plan
+$9.99 - Add a line
+4.99 - 400 text message for the added line
+39.99 - PDA data plan
+19.99 - Unlimited text messaging
------------------------------------------
= $144.95 + Taxes ! icon_surprised.gif

If I switch to and get him a Sidekick.I sure he will like/love it and I can SAVE money =

$59.99 - Family Plan
+$9.99 - Add a line
+4.99 - 400 text message for the added line
+19.99 - Sidekick unlimited.(Include unlimited date and text messaging)
------------------------------------------
= $94.96 + Taxes icon_smile.gif

Over the next two years I can save total of $1199.76! icon_biggrin.gif

Down side.
T-Mobile coverage is not that good compared to AT&T.
Less Mobile to Mobile.
No 3G service.
Sidekick is not "cheap".
Have to pay $35.00 for each line for activation fee.($105.00 in total),

What do you guys think? Or is there any other option you can recommend?

Thanks in advance!

I say go to tmobile. I've never had an issue with the service and customer care is great. The sidekick is by far the best phone to text on. Tmobile is supposed to be making an announcement on december 6 and most people think it is going to be about 3g. That's the day before your contract is up, pretty good timing.

It's really up to you. Just make sure that you have the right plans sorted out: There is a $49.99 unlimited PDA plan that includes unlimited messaging with AT&T, or a $39.99 plan that's unlimited data and 1500 messages. I give the Upper hand to tmobile over ATT any day of the week. Even though ATT has 3G, but like 1 mentioned above, their customer service is great.(Tmobile) I just added a line about 2 months and when changing a few things around on the new plan, they messed up and i was suppose to get an Unlimited Txt Msg plan, $15. but when the corporate store did the changes, they must of took off the txt msg plan, so when i got my bill, Like $150 of txt msg charges. so i called up customer care, i told them the story, and they took of me right away and i didnt have to worry about paying the BILL and wait for a credit a month later. plus they gave BOTH accounts like 500 bonus minutes. so sorry for the long story, but i know that ATT would of not lifted a finger, from experience. good luck
