Current phone is Razr V3 (non-EDGE, non-3G) SIM Card is Cingular branded, marked "64K SmartChip"
New phone is EDGE, HSDPA, 3G, W-CDMA, etc etc
Will I need a new SIM to utilize all these new functions?
If yes, it is a simple matter of calling ATT and requesting a new SIM? I don't want to change the PLAN I have - it's just that I do enough International traveling now that a true World Phone will be a big Plus
THANKS

Is the SIM card blue? If so, it should work in the new phone. If not (orange), you'll need to carry it to a store and get one. You'll still have to get the AT&T data settings for it, though.
Might want to have it looked at, anyway, just to be sure.

No this is an Orange card. So I guess I call up and request a new SIM, correct? And how would one obtain/determine the data settings?

Yeah. go to a store and buy a SIM. We can sell them to you over the phone, at $24.99, but you'll pay $9.95 in shipping which really isn't worth it. Most stores carry them for $17-$25 anyway, so it's not going to save you any money by ordering one through customer care.
As far as the settings go, there is a good guide stickied at the top of this forum, you can go to www.wireless.att.com/support and search, or can call in to customer care and they'll help you. But they'll help you by looking at the exact same page I just linked, so it's not really worth a call in unless you're having issues.
