I couldn't find anything recent on this question, but I would like to unlock an iPhone (fully functional) for tmobile. Is it possible?
I noted a URL with some instructions at the linux level (I can't post the URL here since I haven't posted enough times) which makes be believe that it can be done. Any info is much appreciated!
Thanks.

Its possible to do and I belive the phone stays 100% functional. Look at engadgetmobile.com for the name of the company that has the software to unlock it.

yeah you can unlock the iphone for tmobile. but having the iphone is like having the ipod. you have to update it. if you unlock it for tmobile and you go to update it, it will freeze and shut off.
it's actually pointless and a waste of money to unlock it.
the iphone comes to tmobile in 2009.
if you can wait that long ha

Its a lot longer than 2009. At&t has a 5 year exclusive on it.
