Ok well I got an unlocked celly for my sister for christmas, and she for some reason likes the cingular tune (now at&t tune)
I've looked allover for that tune and no luck, please give me a link to where I can downlaod it thanks!
I already searched at the cingular website and did not find it, I used to find it all the times there but no luck now that At&T merged wid Cingulae

Or.
Take a locked AT&T phone, use the headphone out of that phone to a computer recorder, record the tune, and use something like MPT or Mobiledit to transfer the tune to the unlocked phone.
Tell your sister she owes you Christmas dinner for going to that much trouble.)))

I've never known anyone to say "I need a crappy, fuzzy, distorted ringtone", so I'm not certain I see your point.
To address this point, there's no reason you can't get a clear version of the tune using the method I've described. I've done it several times with various tones on phones that I can't find anywhere else. I've done sound production professionally for over 30 years, so I'm fairly certain I know what I'm talking about.
Again, the only reason you would use the procedure I've outlined is if you can't find the tune you want anywhere else. The procedure is clumsy, cumbersome, and time-consuming. But the results are just fine. Especially if you're like me and find it utterly ridiculous to pay $1.00 to $2.00 for a ringtone that I can lift off of any source and use as a ringtone.
Also, I've seen my daughter transfer tones from her phone to another one using Bluetooth. Is this not possible with your situation? I've never tried it.

No its not possible , good ur a person with audio, im a person with cellphones, and all ringtones premade in the phone do not allow ringtones to be transferred only ringtones loaded into it thaths not protected
well good, I also deal with audio, I never pay for a ringtone! I use audacity to make my ringtones, or to mix my songs

I didn't say transfer. I'm fully aware that the tune is locked and can't be transferred. I said to make the phone play the tone in "settings/audio.Oh, never mind, I give up. Forunately, I've figured out how to do it for myself.
I guess yer screwed.
