I recently purchased a Motorola Razr V3 unlocked phone which appears to be made in the UK. I placed my AT&T sim chip in it. It dials out and receives calls but I have gotten 5 error messages since last night. Is there anything I need to do to eliminate the message? I do get the AT&T logo on log in, etc.

seems like it could be a firmware issue, but thats just a guess, naster reset the phone see if that helps

What is a master reset and how do I do it?

a master reset set all the phone settings back to factory default, it wont deleat anything though.
Master Reset
NOTE: Performing this function will reset all user-defined settings on the device.
From the standby screen, press the Menu key.
Scroll to "Settings", then press Select.
Scroll to "Initial Setup", then press Select.
Scroll to "Master Reset", then press Select.
Enter Security Code (default: 000000), OK.
Confirm "Reset All Phone Settings?" Select YES.
Master reset complete, phone restarts.

are you also having issues with message waiting indicator and/or text messaging?

The message comes in as text messaging. I have gotten 5 of the same message. I went back to my old phone with the sim chip and saw the same five messages in the text message box so it must stay on the sim chip. I normally don't use text messaging and occasionally receive them from my son or daughter. I bought this phone because it was smaller and because I could use it in Europe. I have an old plan from SunCom with unlimited talk time for $50 and don't want to change although AT&T would like to migrate me to a different plan.

i got the same code error on a v3 that was unloced from t-moble and use with my att, it works but i get this error and it cost me .15 eack time and i am on the pay as u go plan.i did the master reset and it still does it.any ideas?

when do you get this. after a call. voice mail or text message?
