ok. so our Verizon Family Share Plan is running out at the end of the month and we are going to upgrade to new phones for christmas. we will be eligible for the New Every 2 $100 credit but the primary number is the only phone eligible for said upgrade. and here lies the problem. my father has the primary phone but only really needs/wants something that will make calls and text, my mother also falls into this category. me and my brother on the other hand are ready to move into the PDA class with the Motorola Q9m which is substantially more expensive than anything he would get.
so basically, i want to make my number the primary number so i can use the $100 credit on one of the more expensive phones. i realize this is a long shot but just thought i would ask you phone educated people since i couldnt find it on the website.
thanks in advance!

Hi,
well here's the deal... if you change the number that's set as the "primary" it will reset your new every 2 eligabiliy date. So don't do that yet.
Here's what I would suggest: have at least you and your dad go into the store to upgrade at the same time. You have him upgrade to the phone you want, then vice versa. After the lines are upgraded, you can then easily swap the equipment from his line to yours. There's no charge for this and it's done all the time.

i didnt even think of that and i actually think that's what we did last time lol.
but then there is the other problem. i was going to buy these phones online since VZW is offering better deals there than in store on the phone i want. can i do the same thing there then?

sure, just when they are delivered, activate the phones on the lines they were ordered on (activation instructions come in the box), then call customer service and have them swap the devices.
