I am thinking about getting a W580i but every source lists something different for it's memory capability. Does anyone know if you can use the 8 gb Micro Memory Stick with this phone? Also, do you have to add on to your service plan in order to be able to e-mail with it? Thanks

I do not know how much it is true, but I talked today with Sony Ericsson support guy on a separate issue and he mentioned that though it is published that w580i can use up to 2 GB Micro M2 card, in reality it supports up to 8 GB. This might be a starting point for your research.

I was wondering about the maximum memory support on my phone too, SE say that it is 2GB but I thought it wont hurt to try a bigger size, I now have a 4GB M2.
mobymemory DOT com offer a full 14-day no questions asked return policy (I obviously didn't use mine lol) and their W580i page offers 8GB cards, so you'll probably be ok.

buy the card and test it out, i think sony ericsson only backs up to 4GB, but i've heard plenty of people get a larger one and use that.
simply put, buy the 8GB from a store - if it doesn't fit, return it.
