What does "a surprised the get" mean? Can you clarify.
As for the respect comment, I'm sure that even in your job, just like everywhere else, you have good and bad people. The same goes for AT&T, when you get rude customer service no matter how respectful you try to be, it still happens.
I have also talked to customer service people who have been very friendly and go out of their way to provide good customer service, and I also get people like "TheManator" who is constantly putting everybody's comment down. Please look for yourself on these forums.
So if you want to stick up for these types of people, have at it, that's what America is about. But don't go bashing me because I feel the way I do about customer service when I'm the one who has been experiencing these types of people.

i will stick up for people just as anyone who has worked in customer service, be it for att, t-mo or even in a store, and have had to deal with the holly than thou attitudes of people.
People who think that ALL people who work in customer service are uneducated HS drop outs, because they dealt with one person who wasn’t as smart as they wanted them to be .
People in customer service deals with rude customers, and Customers will deal with that one percent of employees that aren’t as knowledgeable, most people in customer service don’t try to label all customers as assholes or idiots, and unfortunately it’s not the same for customers.
