Is there a way to run the VCast Music Manager with an account that does not have Administrative Privileges?
I’ve installed the sw using my daughters account (only after giving her Admin privileges), and it worked ok. Once I removed Admin privileges, QuickLink failed forcing VCast to be closed.
Attempting to run VCast (under my daughters account w/o Admin privs) using “Run As…” also fails – with a different reason.
Having to delegate Administrative Privileges just to use VCast, does not seem like a good software model.

Smith Micro (sw creator for VCast) confirmed this in an email to me - you have to have admin privs to run VCast.
Work around is to install the drivers needed for the phone involved using VCast using an account with admin privs, then use Windows Media Player 10 or higher to sync your music (from the account w/o admin privs).
