I purchased an unlocked phone and I am using my previous SIM card. The Sim card I believe is recent technology since it was new 6 months ago.
The new phone is a Motorola L2. The phone is used/refurbished. When I insert the sim card and turn on the phone the card does seem to register but I get either a 'No Service" or "Emergency Only" message.
In my setup menu, I searched through the available networks, and AT&T is available, but when I select it I still get no service.
Anyone have any ideas why I am not getting service? The card works fine in my old phone.
Thanks!

I believe there is settings for which frequency the phone looks for in addition to which networks are available. Keep looking in the settings.

hmmm sounds like you have a bum phone. maybe you can try going into a ATT store and see if a different sim will work or not, if not then u got a bad phone. but honestly sounds like a bad phone to me
