I have a VX8700 (LG) from Verizon. I have two different bluetooth headsets, and neither will stay connected. One is a Motorola, the other Motor Trend over-the-head set. Fully charged, phone fully charged, they have been paired. Sometimes I can connect them and it will stay connected for 2 or 3 hours before the phone disconnects the head set. The only way it will reconnect is to power down the phone then turn it back on, then turn the headset on. Tried re doing the pairing but no changes. Also the battery in the phone runs down (from a FULL charge), in 4-6 hours, with little or no activity. No data transfer, no pictures, no music, no web browsing. Anybody else having this problem?

I would have a store tech verify if the phone has any warranty defects, or if the software needs an update. You can check the software by going into the settings and tools, phone info, and SW version; or by pressing #4357*4357 and it will display the SW version. The updated version you want it to read is T87VZV02. If it shows a different version you'll want to bring it into the store to be updated, it takes about forty minutes, and it should resolve some bluetooth issues you have.

Been there, done that. Had tech "update" the software, made no difference. Took it back in and traded phones (same model), and it works fine so far.

I had the exact same problem. I found that if I turned off the bluetooth on the phone, the battery would not run down overnight. Finally brought it in to Verizon and switched out the phone. New one is version one software and works fine so far- no bluetooth disconnects and battery now lasts 2 to 3 days again even with bluetooth turned on (and not paired, the headset is off.) I am going to wait a week or two before bringing it back for the software upgrade.

I am on my second VX8700, after my first stopped pairing/connecting to my Plantronics headset. The Verizon rep said that's a known problem (Bluetooth connectively ceases) with the first version. This second one (updated software) seemed to be operating properly, but is now performing similarly. Bluetooth headset won't connect, or phone hands audio back and forth from phone to headset. Also experiencing widely variable battery life with low usage.
I'm on the verge of going to Verizon again and perhaps switching phones. Too bad, since this unit is so handsomely designed.

One of the common problems with buying a phone because it's shiny, it may be ugly underneath.
