Hi,
when i attempt to take a picture on the w580i camera, it simply closes and goes into menu after making a shutter tone. the image does not save. no warning appears or any validation to save. i have tried changing the save address from memory card to phone memory with no luck. there is 10mb free on phone and over 400mb free on memory card so i dont think its an issue of space.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanx

i think that's not a problem with ur camera cause it happened to me the same thing so it's either ur memory card full or it's not connected .cause the picture folder has a limited size for example u have a 2h memory card that 2g splits in different categories.music .photos.and others.so ur problem is that the picture partition is full and the phone can't save it anymore.i hope this would help u

uhm i doubt that's the problem with it - if you can't put onto the memory stick it says that it's full.

in any case to change the partition size you put it into your computer and format it and chose the partition size.

the more liekly problem is that it can either be a hardware or software problem.

a hardware problem can result from if you dismantled your phone to change the housing or anything like that, normally it just means something is unplugged or a bunch of things aren't plugged in correctly.

a software problem you'd either have to flash the main/fs yourself or go through another program/company [da vinci or wontan server, etc] i'd try to flash the main yourself since it's free and you can back up the GDFS of your phone so that it's almost a 100% guarantee that you won't jak up your phone.

thankyou all for your replys. i dont have much experience with flashing so im not sure if i will be capable of doing it. i will see if i can just return the phone. the odd thing is.the camera will save pictures if they are in the panoramic of framed mode, but will not if it is is burst or normal. also ive found the video recorder works fine.
thanx again

flashing the phone is actually an easy process, if you do it yourself and back up the GDFS it's near impossible to mess up your phone.

simply put, the process is you connect the phone, click 3 buttons to flash the phone and then that's it.

but yeah def. i would just try to return it first since that's a lot easier.
