About a week ago my phone was sitting next to me on the couch and starting bugging out. The volume went from vibrate straight to full blast and then it wouldn't let me do anything. Whenever I tried to open a menu or dial a number the volume just came up on the screen and nothing else would respond. I pulled the battery out while the phone was on and left it out overnight. When I put it back in the next morning it did the same thing for about 10 minutes but after that it randomly started "working" again. I could use everything on the phone but it ran extremely slow. Menus take forever to respond and text messaging is a nightmare. Will a master reset fix this and if so, will I lose all of my phone numbers saved on my SIM? Do I need to reload the firmware? Any help would be greatly appreciated because Cingular told me I would have to buy a new phone at full price.

Master reset will not clear your contact and such , it just reset setting back to original.
Master clear however, will clean out verything.
You might need to reflash it

Alright I reset it and it still bugs out. How would I go about reflashing it? I'm really new to this so I apologize if it becomes an inconvenience.
