FYI she is in NY i am in TX
My mom: What time you get off work?
ME: 9
MOM: Is your home phone working? Call me when you get home & I'll call you back -- on the house phone --- so we don't have to worry about batteries dying.
Me: ok
MOM: So I'll hear from you around 8:30-ish your time?
MOM: I mean 9:30 your time --- 8:30 my time 
Me:  wanna try that one more time?
MOM: Oh WHENEVER! Just don't forget to call. Yes, I WILL be awake . . . .
