Since your service provider is Cingular, I doubt whether you can update the firmware at the local SE centre. You can contact the Cingular after sales centre and check out whether they perform firmware updates.

1. Do you think it would be possible for SE to make a phone accessory that can read MMC/SD or any other type of memory cards so that we can save the more images and files? What I mean is a card reader/writer that can be attached to the phone (t610)?
2. I hope too that they could include a speakerphone for the t610. It's an important feature for me esp when driving.

Generally, SE does not disclose any details about the new improvements in the firmware versions. However, from what I have gathered, there seems to be some sort of improvement in the IrDA capability. However, it is still no where near the IrDA capabilites of the other SE phones.

First of all, SE needs to increase the maximum access capacity in it's new phones. Dissapointment is written on the faces of the SE fans since the all new SE T650 is not expected to use Memory Stick DUO PRO but will continue with the same old DUO sticks. This means that the maximum capacity of one memory card will still be 128MB.
The T610 does not have a memory card slot. Hence, there is no scope for increasing the memory in the T610.
The speakerphone is expected to be an important feature in the new T650.

Hello people! Well I did my own researching and you can do your own firmware update via terminator dongle and software. Found the info on www.celluar-support.com and www.mobile-mods.net

The latest firmware obviously means some improvements have been made. However, SE does not release exact details about these improvements.
