All these talking abt upgrading the firmware and all.. but where can I find this firmware?
U can upgrade the firmware at ur local SE centre or u can get it from specialized websites that provide the same.

I've been surfing ard on how to flash the phone and it seems very much application driven, i.e. all the u need is the flasher and vola.. phone flashed.. What kind of failure would I expect anyway?? Anyone can educate me please.. Thanks a mil
Ur phone can get damaged internally, i.e., the circuit board might get destroyed or ur phone might not start up. However, it's not a very risky process as many think it is.

Now that the K700 is available in a few markets around the world, I thought I would post the latest fw version.
The latest firmware for this phone has been listed as R2A026. If u guys own a k700 and have a later firmware, please post it over here.

There's no SE service centre in Miri, or even Sarawak for that matter The only way to upgrade SE mobile firmware would be in Kuala Lumpur for free if your phone is still under warranty or for a fee (around RM50 - RM100, I assume) if it's out of warranty (or AP set for that matter).
But I do have a friend in Bintulu who owns a mobile phone shop and he has the tools to upgrade Nokia mobile firmware. I had my Nokia 6100 upgrade to the latest firmware last time for free He charges around RM50 - RM 80 per Nokia mobile upgrade. And I did ask him to inform me if he happens to get SE upgrade tools
