I have been thinking about possibly switching from Verizon to another company.
Is this process hard?
Also do I have to pay the termination fees or will those be somehow waived if I do so?
Thanks!

normally the switch should be fairly simple the hard part will be finding a provider/make&model of phn you want. regarding the term. fee you will have to contact verizon to find out your status or contract dates.if your out of contract then there should be no fee. if your in contract you'll want to ask about there policy with the fee and how much it is.

I just read it and they said you will owe whatever charges are left on the account and termination fees.
BUT I have heard of other companies dishing out the money to pay off the termination fees so they can have you as a customer.but Idk.

No company that I know of actually pays off Early Termination Fees. If they did they would require a 4 year contract or more to recover costs. I've read about other companies doing it, but it wasn't from those companies, but from other people wondering if they do. As far as I've read, they do not, obviously for the extreme cost.

if they did, it would be more chaotic. customers would switch back and forth when they have any sort of problem with their service. service providers would just be exchanging money back and forth, and there would be no more existing consequence for customers not abiding by what they agreed to. i like the idea of the contract when it comes to discounting phones especially.

Or it would kick up into escalating fees. They will buy your contract out, but then you would have a 400 ETF on a four year contract. All companies would then say that they'll buy out contracts, but only pay 200 of the ETF. Essentially right back to square one, except you have to figure out how to make a phone last four years. Ugly situation to think about.
