I have purchased a DKU - 5 to use along with my Nokia 7250i so I can connect to my laptop via PC Suite and the phone is not being recognised on Com 1... Anyone with any ideas on how I can get this working...
Thanks in advance
Phil

After u select the cable, it will give u a list of all available com ports. Select one, by trial and error method, u'll have the right com port, if its not com1 port.
After u plug in the cable, u should be to see it in the Device Manager of the Computer.

It shows up in COM 7 or COM 8 but when I assign it within the set up of PC Suite it still does not recognise it!!!
I need to be able to use my mobile phone as a modem to collect my email from my laptop as I am leavinf to Australia on 12 days for 2 months... is there any other software that you can recommend to do this job that may cause less problems???

Oke,
Some questions which i didn't ask before::
Is it the original dku-5 cable, or a non-nokia cable?
Are the drivers for the cable installed properly?
Did u install it in this manner::
First install the dku-5 driver.
Then install the pc suite.(Cable should not be connected)
However if this still doesn't work, u can use 3rd party s/w like Oxygen Phone Manager or MobiMB(both are paid s/w, not freewares).

Yes its the original DKU 5
PC Suite was already installed before I installed the driver for the DKU... I am going to take everything off and re-install today...
Success... Thankyou for your advice and understanding...

I recently bought a dku-5 cable for my nokia 7250. The porblem is, the other end of the cable is not a USB port. Rather, it's the one which has nine pin holes. I don't know if that's the problem because the computer/nokia connection manager cannot detect my phone! I uninstalled and re-installed the driver and the pc suite for several times already and it still doesn't work! I did all the right things such as installing the driver first (the cable isn't connected to the computer) before installing the pc suite. How can I get the connection manager to detect my phone? Please please help!

Um... you've got fooled, buddy. DKU-5 only has USB, there are no Com-Port versions like you've got. You've got a cheap imitation cable. And Nokia PC Suite doesn't supports those cheap cables.
