Sprint 3G EVDO Is currently the fastest wireless data solution period. and in april, it's even getting an upgrade to keep up with landline dsl speeds, leaving TDMA users (GSM & iDEN) in the dust, and other CDMA Carriers Jealous, Then Just Wait Til WiMax hits, that is going to truely blow a hole and make tdma carriers obsolete. Ever heard of HSPDA? It ain't a slouch in the speed department.
And, yeah, all the reports have that WiMAx coming on like gangbusters, ain't it?
Sorry, but I don't think we'll be dodging holes anytime soon.

yes but alot of wifi spots are now becoming secure, so its not like you can just park somewhere and connect anymore

Agreed. Soon It will be very difficult to find a free wifi spot. not to mention wimax will rival current broadband speeds in general, which will be faster than most wifi, and more accessable due to the fact you can access it anywhere you get a signal, which is almost the entire nation. And The Funny Part Is, The Internet On My Katana dlx is 10 Times faster than the internet on your iphone. i can't wait til the microsoft phone comes out and blows iphone away.

the iphone isnt a good comparator to EVDO service. the iPhone is a EDGE device. a better comparator would be something like a Pantech Duo , a Moto Q or a Palm Centro (3G umts devices)

is i replied to a post of yours boasting the same invalid information on a diff post
ATT mobile broadband- Average Download speed of 600 kbps - 1.4 Mbps burst up to 3.6 Mbps on broadband connect Network
Average Upload speed of 500 - 800 Kbps on BroadbandConnect Network*
and this is directly from both companies websites
so how is sprint faster ?

I Don't Know What ATT Is Smokin But Whoever put that on thier website is way wrong. i also post on another cell phone forum and 4 of us did real world tests of att, verizon, and sprint aircards. and we are in 4 different parts of the country, yet we yielded the same results. sprint came out on top, followed pretty close by verizon, and att in last. this was less than two months ago. fact is, att 3g coverage is moot, and while maybe in 5 percent of the market they are getting .6 higher speeds than sprint, this does not make then faster than sprint in the real world. and now wimax will be completely rolled out by the end of the year, boasting 4 to 6 megs and lte is at least 4 years away, and that's wishful thinking.
