It's likely called QChat as an abbreviation of Qualcomm Chat, and I think it possible that it would also work on Verizon and Alltel, if Sprint decided to sell them licenses.
Not Only Would That Be A Huge Revenue Boost For Sprint, That Would Be Awesome In General. QChat Between Carriers Would Revolutionize How We Use Cell phones.

Sort of, but hey have to view it in one of two ways. Dp they try and license it for use with other carriers? Or Do they keep it exclusive and try and get more customers as a result. That is a tough question.

Depends On What They Charge For Lending It To Other Carriers. Plus If It Really Takes Off It Makes Other Carriers Dependent On It.

If they charge a lot, but make it available, then carriers will have to pay it to keep their customers.

I Would Offer It To AllTel Only, As Sprint Might Get Another Chance To Buy Them Up.
