Ok guys, new firmware versions are out for all CDA versions of the P900. Check out the update service now. Most of the CDAs have a common firmware update, i.e., R5A & R5B.

I seem to be having problem updating firmware on my P900:
"Your device is not permitted to use this service
Your operator does not approve the usage of this service for this device"
from what i've read on some forums it seems that ones with chinese version have their own firmware update?
Hope someone have a clearer view on this since i've just got my p900 few days ago.

Thanks

wot has happened there is that the phone u r using has somehow became unbranded, happened 2 my p900 also, if u go get it unbranded urself then sony ericsson can just check the imei of ur fone, and match it up wit what shud b the original cda number for that specific imei, if they dont match the update doesnt go ahead, bit of a bummer i know, and ppl wil say dat it dont operate dis way, but i have insider knowledge, and know thats how its workin

Btw, does anyone have an idea whether the P910 flip will be available or can be fitted in the P9?

Is there a software update that will allow searching of names by
entering several letters when adding a recipient during SMS creation
(when the flip closed)?
Right now the 'Find' feature during SMS creation displays names only
by the FIRST letter, unlike when making Calls you can search by
entering several letters at once.
