SIM cards are $19.99 and you can get one at a T-Mobile retail store. Please do, because when you call us at the T-Mobile call-centers just to order a sim card, it really wastes both our time, unless you don't mind waiting like 10 days to get it. It sounds like in the other 2 phones that you tried it in, it wasn't properly inserted or had come loose. Depends what kinds of phones we're talking about.

I'd check with either customer care or a tmobile retail store to see if there are any known issues with your phone.

CranberryDots, I promise when I have some free time tomorrow at work (I'm a T-Mobile CSR) I'll try and check the known issues for RAZR's, for you to see if there's any issues of the kind you're describing. Although, if you've had that SIM card as long as you say, it may just be because it's old. Again, I promise I'll check tomorrow at work the known issues for SIM cards to see how long they last before they start wiggin' out. The only other thing I can think is if you put a security code (AKA "SIM PIN") on your phone and entered it 10 times incorrectly, then when asked for a PUK code (PIN Unlock Code) you entered it in 3 times incorrectly and it fried your SIM card. This is a good way to fry a SIM card, by the way, if you can get ahold of the phone of somebody you really despise- which may have happened to you if you don't remember doing this. But, like you said, your SIM card did work in your dad's phone, plus I think the error message when you fry it is like "SIM unlock error", or something along those lines. But I'll try and find you an answer by tomorrow. Keep me posted too, if you can.

It's the phone . if you added another registered sim card and the same phone is getting the same error message it's the phone . place the sim card in another phone to see if the sim card error message is the same . if not then it's confirmed that it's the phone . try doing this first before paying $20. for a sim card. get a sim card backup . this device allows you to store the names and numbers form the sim card to this device . in the event that something happens to the sim card you have the phonebook information stored and able to retrieve for a new sim card . note; you must store your names and numbers to the sim card rather than the phone . phone book information stored to the phone is not transferable . anytthing happens to the phone it's gone . make sure the handset is unlocked . you people should always when getting another phone have it unlocked . my two cents
